Dacice is a town set close to the Moravska Dyje river on the southernmost part of Bohemian-Moravian Highlands (Ceskomoravska vrchovina). The town has two chateaus. The first one has been built in 1591. The originally Renaissance chateau had been many times renewed, into an Empire appearance for the last time. The chateau is opened to public from April to October. The municipal museum and the galley reside in the south wing. In the north end of Palacke square there is the second Dacice’s chateau, so-called “Stary Zamek” (the Old castle). Stary Zamek is a seat of municipality. The domain feature is the Renaissance tower of the church of St. Vavrinec built in the style of late Baroque. The church is one of the largest churches in Moravia.
